-Prelude-
Ayaka is a street artist, and one who is mildly successful. She thinks that she’s doing well, but when a mysterious figure comes into the fray, she’s immediately on guard. However, she soon learns that the guy in this scenario is none other than Kelvin Thompson, one of the wealthiest and hottest guys out there.
She wondered if he was just here to mess with her, or if he was actually serious. This confused her, because Kelvin is known as the notorious playboy who flirts with every woman. He cannot go a minute without flirting with something, and Ayaka is worried about what she is getting into.
However, her feelings for this man continue, and they grow in a way that she’s never felt before. She wasn’t used to the whole dating game, and rarely partook in it, but she was starting to feel something for this guy, even though his attempts at flirting could be mediocre at best, and he was kind of an idiot. But will he ever take their relationship seriously?
Can this guy, who has been known as a playboy through and through and the type of guy any woman wanting a serious relationship knows to steer clear of, actually woo Ayaka?
Or will his bad behavior in the past continue to riddle this affair?
Ayaka also has her own issues. She has trust issues with guys due to past events, and she doesn’t know if she can trust this guy. He is overly flirty, and she gets worried at one point.
But will she be able to get past this? Will the relationship survive? And will she be able to change this man from a notorious flirt to a decent human being?

Chapter I
Ayaka looked at the people all around her. It was another day on the streets, another day as a street artist making a living. Her job was to make caricatures of people but today seemed to be quite the waste.
Despite the fact that it seemed busy, most people weren’t really interested in that today, but rather they were talking all about the stupid football game that was going on in the stadium nearby. Maybe setting up shop right by a football stadium wasn’t the best idea.
But it worked well otherwise. She was right by the lakefront, and most of the time the place was hopping with people. She adored it more than anything else, and Ayaka made a great living off of it.
However, she wanted something more, something amazing, and she felt like she wanted to meet someone new who could make her life worth living.
“Hey there Ayaka,” my friend Denise said.
I waved at her, smiling at the woman. She was running around on the beach as part of her training. The woman was a total beast, and Ayaka was so jealous of how amazing she was sometimes.
The woman could run circles around her, and she was training for the marathon that was in a couple of months. She knew that today was probably the beach training day, and she got to see her friend in action.
Ayaka wondered if maybe she should take that up. She was curvy, but she wasn’t ugly or anything. Rather, she was the type of girl that many liked, and some were jealous of her.
With a plump set of breasts and a nice butt, she definitely had the look. But she kept most of it covered in a modest fashion. Of course, she wondered if the right guy might make her show off just a bit more.
She was your average ordinary girl. Ayaka wasn’t really the type who was trying to make it big. She knew that being an artist was hard, but it was better than what she did before. And normally she made decent money, so this was just a rare occasion.
“Hello there,” a person said.
“Oh hello,” Ayaka replied.
“Could you draw me?” the person asked.
“Sure,” she said. It w the first client of the day, the one who seemed very interested in her. She immediately grabbed her pens and paper, drawing the man in front of her.
He was cute, but not really her type. He seemed to be your average football fan, someone who didn’t seem to care too much about anything else besides the score of the game.
She didn’t mind the fact that guys generally liked sports, but she didn’t want to date one who was obsessed with them. This man seemed like he might be the type.
“So, you here for the game?” she asked.
“That I am. I take it that you are trying to get some of the fans here?” he asked.
“You could say that. I just like the area,” she replied.
“That’s cool. I guess its hard being a street artist isn’t it?” he asked.
“It is, but you got to do what you got to do,” she replied.
“I get that. Well thank you for doing this,” he stated. He was nice, but he wasn’t her type. When she finished, she gave him the picture and he gave her some money, seeing her off.
She wondered if that guy had a girlfriend or not. He was charming, even though she wasn’t into those types of guys. Maybe there was someone like that who was a bit more her type out there. She could only hope.
The rest of the day was pretty easy for the most part, but Ayaka was still thinking about boys. She hadn’t had a boyfriend in a very long time, and she wondered if maybe there was anything that she could do about it.
She knew maybe trying to do something with her hair, or maybe making her eyes a bit bigger and trying to dress better might help. But she didn’t want that.
She wanted a guy who saw her as beautiful regardless of what the hell she wore. It was kind of her biggest pet peeve in a way, and she would want more than anything to have someone like that.
After a couple of hours, she thought it might be time to pack up for the day. However, when she was about to do so, a man came on by. He was a mysterious guy, almost like a secret agent or something. Oh no, she thought everything was squared away and she had clearance to paint here.
She grew a bit nervous at the sight of him. After a bit of time though, he came over to her, but he wasn’t necessarily being an ass or anything. He was charming, that’s for sure, but she was worried about what this might mean.
“Hello there,” he said with a smile.
“Hello yourself. You here for a drawing?” she asked.
“That, and I was curious as to who you were. I definitely hadn’t seen you around here in a while,” he replied.
“You’ve seen me before?” she asked.
“Once, but you didn’t really stand out. Now that you’re here alone, I guess you’re working hard on your stuff,” he replied.
She nodded, growing a bit nervous around this guy. He seemed like some creepy dude who was trying to hit on her. But at the same time, she was getting a different vibe from him. It was a vibe of friendliness, something that stood out in a way.
“So what are you here for besides a picture? It’s not e
very day that a guy like you shows up,” she asked.
“Well I noticed that you were around. And I was curious about you. I’m Kelvin by the way,” he stated.
“Ayaka. But why do you care so much about me?” she managed to reply.
“Nothing personal, it’s just that you got my attention,” he simply said.
This guy was a very strange man, a very strange one indeed. Ayaka thought that she should be scared of this man, or at least a bit nervous, but there was something relaxing about him, something alluring to her.
But she had no idea what it was. He wasn’t dressed to the nines or looking dead sexy or anything. She could barely see his face.
“So do you want me to draw you like that, or do you want to take the glasses off?” she asked. She kind of wanted to see him with the glasses off, but she was a bit afraid to admit it.
“Well you tell me. What will be easier on you?” he asked.
“Well you’re certainly interesting and intriguing, so I would say you would definitely keep my interest if you took those damn glasses off. But, I can understand why you wouldn’t,” she mused.
“I only keep them on for one reason, and one reason at all. But the thing is, I’m willing to show you if you want it,” he said.
“Well let’s just do the picture with the glasses. Maybe this can be some sort of alias caricature. Plus I have a cool idea for it,” she replied.
“Well I’m glad you get cool ideas based off the things I wear. I wear all this for a reason though, and maybe once you’re done and it looks great, I can show you,” he said.
She looked at him, shocked at the way he was gazing at her. There was something strange about this man, very strange indeed, but she wasn’t going to attempt to read this man or anything.
However, after a moment or so, she began the painting, and soon she drew this man in a way she hadn’t really drawn people before.
She was inspired by him. She had no idea why, but Ayaka was definitely a bit shocked by this. She wondered if maybe there was a reason for it, but she definitely didn’t like the fact that it was even going this way.
She wondered if he had some sort of power over her, or if that was naturally how he acted. But Ayaka felt like she was under a spell, and after a bit of time, she finally finished up, gazing upon him with a smile.
“I finished it,” she said.
“Good. May I see it?” he asked.
She nodded, feeling hesitant about the response. Would he like it? Or would he just brush it off as nothing? She kind of hoped that he would. There was something about this guy that made her want to impress him.
Normally she did her art for herself and for money alone, but she wanted approval from Kelvin more than anything.
However when Kelvin looked at it, she could see the change in his face. It was more of a shocked expression than anything else, so she assumed it wasn’t anything too bad or awry. However, she was curious about what he really thought.
“Do you like it?” she asked.
“Like it? I freaking love it. You have quite the knack for drawing my dear. I definitely am interested in coming back here again. I mean, maybe next time you can draw me in another disguise,” he replied.
She nodded. “Or you could just come in a normal outfit,” she mused.
“I can’t do that. It’s a bit complicated if I do,” he admitted.
“How so?” she asked. How was it hard to dress like a normal freaking person? She never understood some people.
“Well why don’t you look at the face and hair underneath the getup for a moment? You can make your judgment there as to why I don’t show others,” he cooed.
She thought that this man was crazy or something. However he soon took off the outfit, and immediately, she stopped, looking at the figure in front of her. No way, it totally wasn’t…but it was.
Kelvin Thompson was right in front of her.
She was at a loss for words. He was only one of the richest men out there and he was the head of one of the strongest financial companies in the city. However, he seemed so different, so bizarre, almost like he was having fun hiding himself from her and from others.
“This was unexpected,” she mused.
“I know that it is. There’s a reason why I hide my face, and that’s why. But since you’ve seen me like this, consider yourself special to me. I only show it to a few people,” he replied.
She nodded, feeling a bit shocked by this. Kelvin, the billionaire playboy that was determined to flirt with every girl out there was talking to her? She may not want a relationship with that, but the fact that he wanted to talk with her of all people made her feel special.
“Well thank you for stopping in. I’m pleasantly surprised by all of this,” she admitted.
“Well I’m glad. But next time buttercup, don’t be so nervous. I’m not going to hurt you or anything,” he teased.
He blushed, knowing that her nervous nature was totally not paying off right now. She just was crap around guys, and this one made her breath start to become hitched in her throat. At least, that was when he revealed himself.
Maybe he just wanted to be seen as a normal guy? She could understand that, but she knew that it wasn’t something that she would be able to really help with.
She knew deep down that there had to be a reason for what he did, but she guessed it was due to the fact that it was awkward for her otherwise.
She then went back to her studio, but before he left, he dropped five 100-dollar bills in the jar as a tip. Five hundred bucks along with thirty for the sketch? Holy shit, she was making bank already today. Maybe today wasn’t going to suck so much after all.
She continued to have her stand there for the rest of the day, but she definitely wondered what might happen next.
So what did that man see in her?
She honestly had no freaking clue, but she wasn’t going to try to understand it. For now, she would take the gains that she had, and she would try her best to make do with whatever she got from this.
However, she knew that the man was going to come back. He would come back indeed.
Chapter II
He came back sooner than she thought. Ayaka had decided after that encounter she needed a break, so she stopped for the day and got some soba noodles as a treat. She rarely treated herself, but this was a rare occasion.
However she was curious as to what was going to happen next. She knew that there had to be a reason for all of this, but she wondered what it was.
She was so bad with guys most of the time that most saw her as the type who would be friends with them, or nothing at all. Most guys ignored her, and other than Denise and her cousin, she was usually alone. But this guy, this guy did something to her, and it made her want to get to know him better.
The second time he came on by was when she was working some festival, painting things. He was actually in mostly normal attire, but he wore a beanie and glasses. However, when he stopped in front of the booth, he smirked at her.
“Hello there darling,’ he said.
“Hello yourself,” she replied.
“How you doing today?” he asked.
“Pretty good. So what you doing here?” she replied. Kelvin was barely noticeable, but she knew it was him.
“Well, I actually wanted to come by and see you again. Wanted to give you this,” he offered.
He gave her a bag, and when she opened it, she realized that it was some of the richest chocolate out there. It was the shit that cost about a hundred bucks for just a box.
“Holy shit,” she said.
“I figured you liked chocolate. Since you’re so sweet and all,” he said with a smirk.
She knew that he was eating this up, but Ayaka was at a loss for words.
“So you came here just to see me?” she asked.
“Well that and there are some cuties here. Got to keep up the image and all,” he replied.
Great, so he flirted with other girls like this. She felt so damn specia
l right now.
“So I guess I’m just another girl that you like to mess with?” she asked.
“Not at all my dear. In fact, I like you more than those other girls. There’s something about you, something that I can’t put my finger on, but I enjoy it a lot. Call me crazy, but I think I might be falling for you,” he said.
She didn’t believe him. “Don’t say stuff like that so frivolously,” she barked.
“Who said it was frivolous? That’s your assumption, not mine sweetie. Anyways, I think it’s best that you get back to work. I’ll stop bothering you,” he replied.
She groaned at the flirty nature of this man. It wasn’t fair, because he was so hot but such a flirt that it made her not sure about taking him seriously.
She had never felt this way before about someone, but she didn’t really know what else to do about it besides just roll with it. Right now, the only thing to do was to just wait and see what might happen next.
He then sat in her chair, and she drew him. He was wearing a pretty ridiculous outfit, but it fit with the theme, so she wondered if he was just messing with her or he actually liked dressing like this.
Either way, it was kind of silly, but she was happy that he at least cared enough to want to come out and see her. It was very strange, very strange indeed, but after she finished, he got up, smiling.
“Well my dear, I guess I shall be going, but buy yourself something nice with this,” he said.
He placed another five hundred-dollar bills into the jar, slinking away and smiling at her. She was so confused. Was this guy just playing with her? Or was he serious? She felt like it was a little bit of both, but she didn’t really know. All that she knew was the fact that she was seeing something very different from what she was used to, and instead of just trying to chill and see what else was going on, she started to feel ill at ease.
Why did that guy make her feel this way? Was there a reason for it? Besides the obvious one, she assumed so.
